Learning at Home
Teachers will discuss appropriate homework for each child with their family. For some pupils it will be most appropriate to identify a target from the Individual Education Plan which home and school will work together on, developing shared strategies e.g. when a child is working on personal skills such as toilet training, or when developing early communication skills is a priority. For other pupils early academic and basic skills will be the focus, for example learning number bonds, spellings or bringing home a reading book. There will also be optional homework activities linked to topic work. These will be identified on the class pages of this site, and in home school books. These activities will be open ended and designed to encourage pupils to enjoy a learning activity with their family e.g. 'How many different shaped leaves can you find in your local park or garden?'
Please see the Termly Learning Leaflets on your child's class page for further information.
