Curriculum Support
IT support for families.
At Southfield School we follow a bespoke curriculum where the children are taught about online safety each half term, this includes understanding learning not just how to keep ourselves safe but also the advantages that using different devices have. We use Purple Mash as our online learning platform which enables us to oversee what learning is happening, allow cross-curricular use in other lessons and enable access to home learning. Each academic year, in February the children take part in a Safer Internet Day assembly as well as taking part in different activities around that year's theme.
As a parent, if you need support with parental controls, social stories please see the various weblinks located on this page but you can also contact Melanie Weinstein our Computing Lead via admin... We also share weekly tips for Parent's via our Facebook page to help you keep up with the latest online safety device or concerns.
Remember the SMART rules:

A is for accepting( be aware of the source),
R is for reliable (not all information online is reliable) , and
T is for tell (tell a trusted adult)
