Jays and Blackbirds visit to a local church.
Jays and Blackbird's classes went to visit St Etheldreda's church. On arrival, the children were warmly welcomed by Reverend Indira, a familiar face who visits Southfield School regularly. The children then went for a tour around the church. They were set the challenge of looking for different symbols within the windows, furniture and the building that we had learnt about in our RE learning in school, this included looking for crosses, hands and doves. The children asked lots of great questions, they learnt about why there are the different colours used within the church and got to try on some of the items that Reverend Indira and Father Darren wear during church services.
