  • Parents and Carers Forum: Working Together to Support Every Child

On Monday 14th September at 12:00pm, Southfield School welcomed parents and carers to our latest Parents and Carers Forum. The session provided a valuable opportunity for families to come together, share experiences, and learn more about the support available to help our children thrive.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended. Your commitment to learning more about how to support your child is greatly appreciated and demonstrates the positive impact that strong home-school partnerships can have on a child's development and success.

During the forum, parents and carers had the opportunity to:

  • Gain valuable knowledge and practical strategies to support their child with SEND.
  • Learn about the support available within school and current developments in SEND provision.
  • Ask questions and receive advice from staff and other professionals.
  • Connect with fellow parents and carers, sharing experiences and building supportive relationships.

We were also proud to share the exciting developments taking place across the school. Southfield now has the largest Senior Leadership Team in the school's history, bringing together a wealth of skills, experience, passion, and dedication. Alongside our wider staff team and the continued support of FOSS (Friends of Southfield School), we remain committed to ensuring every child receives the support, opportunities, and encouragement they need to succeed.

A key message from the forum was the importance of parental engagement. We firmly believe that the very best outcomes for children are achieved when families and school work closely together. By maintaining open communication, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another, we can help our children flourish both in school and beyond.

Together, we can equip our young people with the confidence, independence, resilience, and life skills they need as they grow into adulthood.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. We look forward to welcoming even more parents and carers to future forum sessions.
