Over the next year, Southfield School will be developing the Science curriculum and working towards achieving Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM). PSQM is a one-year evidence-informed, professional development and school improvement programme. The programme focusing on transforming the quality and profile of the Science education across the whole school, making a positive and lasting impact on Science teaching and learning. The school will receive recognition for their school through the accreditation of a highly-regarded Primary Science Quality Mark.

Improvements to the curriculum have already begun, with fun and engaging lessons being planned for Understanding the World in Phase 1 and Science in Phases 2 and 3. Pupils across the school are learning to work scientifically, exploring the world around them in a hands on approach which encourages curiosity and a love for learning.
