Today marks an exciting milestone in our school calendar as pupils head to the polling station to cast their votes for our new Head Pupil and Deputy Head Pupil.

Following the fantastic candidate speeches delivered by our Year 6 pupils earlier this week, voting day gives every child the opportunity to have their voice heard and play an important role in shaping our school community. It is a wonderful way for pupils to experience democracy in action and understand the importance of making informed choices.

The election process has already provided our candidates with valuable opportunities to develop their confidence, communication skills, and leadership qualities. Standing in front of the whole school to share their ideas and aspirations took courage and determination, and we could not be prouder of how they represented themselves.

For those casting their votes today, it is also a significant learning experience. Pupils are encouraged to listen carefully, consider different viewpoints, and make decisions responsibly. These are important life skills that help children become active, respectful, and engaged members of both our school and the wider community.

This morning, our Headteacher was among the first to cast her vote, highlighting the message that every voice matters and every vote counts. It was a wonderful moment that reflects the values we strive to promote throughout school: respect, responsibility, inclusion, and participation.

No matter the outcome, every candidate should feel incredibly proud of their achievements. By putting themselves forward and sharing their ideas, they have demonstrated the confidence, maturity, and commitment that make them excellent role models for younger pupils.

We would like to thank all of our candidates, staff, and pupils for embracing this important process with such enthusiasm and respect. We now look forward to counting the votes and announcing the results tomorrow.
