Parent/Carer Terms of Reference for WhatsApp groups
November 2022
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are aware that there are several WhatsApp groups across school and whilst we encourage these, we do feel that there needs to be some rules and boundaries to observe whilst part of the group.
These are listed below:
- There is to be no hate speeches or any kind of bullying. Please be respectful of other people’s opinions and views. Degrading comments about race, religion, culture, gender or identity or sexual culture will not be tolerated and will result in you being removed from the group.
- Please respect other parents/carers privacy. If something is shared or disclosed in the group, please respect that person’s privacy and do not share with other people. Please do not make screen shots of conversations to share with others either.
- Slandering or talking about school staff in a derogatory way will not be tolerated in the groups. This is not the aim of the group and could result in you being removed from the group. If you have issues/concerns with staff or something specific to your child in school, please raise it the correct way via the class teacher, admin team or leadership team.
- There is to be no swearing and foul/offensive language in the groups.
The groups are to be used for parents/carers to share reminders, share event information, and arrange play dates and to be a support for each other. Please be mindful of this when using the group. Group administrators can and will remove people if they feel they are not following the rules.
