  • Christmas 2025 at Southfield

    Thu 18 Dec 2025

We had a fantastic time getting into the festive spirit this year.  Our celebrations included a delicious Christmas dinner, a visit from Santa himself, and plenty of fun at our Christmas disco. Students enjoyed sweet treats from the tuck shop and rounded off the festivities with a cosy movie afternoon. It was a wonderful way to celebrate together and spread holiday cheer across the school!

  • Jays visit to the De Havilland Museum

    Fri 12 Dec 2025

Jay’s class had an exciting and educational trip to the de Havilland Aircraft Museum. The children explored real aircraft cockpits and enjoyed pretending to be pilots, discovering what it would be like to fly a plane. They also practiced using Morse Code and learned how pilots communicated in the past. The class saw a wide range of planes and engines designed by Sir Geoffrey de Havilland, gaining a fascinating insight into the history of aviation. It was a memorable day that brought learning to life.

  • Woodpeckers go donutting!

    Fri 12 Dec 2025

Woodpeckers had lots of fun donuttting at Gosling Sports Centre this Friday afternoon. We loved racing each other down the slopes, exploring fast and slow. We all had a go and loved going forwards, backwards, spinning and even making a class chain where we all went down together. We loved our first offsite visit as Woodpeckers.

  • The Nativity Story

    Tue 09 Dec 2025

We were delighted to welcome Father Darren and Reverend Indira into school to help us explore the Nativity story in a fun and interactive way. Using costumes and props, they brought the characters and events to life, giving our pupils the chance to step into the story themselves. It was a wonderful experience that deepened our understanding of this special part of Christmas and created lasting memories for everyone involved.

  • Blackbirds visit to the De Havilland Museum.

    Tue 09 Dec 2025

Today Blackbirds went to the De Havilland Aircraft Museum.  The children loved spending the morning here.  They got to see lots of different types of airplanes built by De Havilland and they went inside a Comet Airplane and inside a cockpit.  All children received a gift with a voucher inside and they all said they would like to go back one day.

  • Panto came to Southfield

    Wed 03 Dec 2025

This year, our pupils were whisked away to Neverland with a spectacular performance of Peter Pan. From daring adventures with Peter and Wendy to mischievous encounters with Captain Hook and his crew, the show was packed with laughter, music, and plenty of pantomime fun! A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this enchanting story to life – it truly was a performance to remember.

We even manages to practise our Makaton signs related to Peter Pan.
